![]() | IHC image of PACO55842 diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human adrenal gland tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at RT. Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a biotinylated secondary antibody and visualized using an HRP conjugated SP system. |
![]() | Immunofluorescence staining of MCF-7 cells with PACO55842 at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L). |
バックグラウンド: | Converts noradrenaline to adrenaline. |
シノニム: | Phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase (PNMTase) (EC 2.1.1.28) (Noradrenaline N-methyltransferase), PNMT, PENT |
UniProt Protein Function: | PNMT: Converts noradrenaline to adrenaline. Belongs to the NNMT/PNMT/TEMT family. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Methyltransferase; EC 2.1.1.28; Amino Acid Metabolism - tyrosine Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q12 Cellular Component: cytosol Molecular Function:phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase activity Biological Process: methylation; catecholamine biosynthetic process; epinephrine biosynthetic process Disease: Hypertension, Essential |
NCBI Summary: | The product of this gene catalyzes the last step of the catecholamine biosynthesis pathway, which methylates norepinephrine to form epinephrine (adrenaline). The enzyme also has beta-carboline 2N-methyltransferase activity. This gene is thought to play a key step in regulating epinephrine production. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2012] |
