![]() | Immunofluorescence staining of PC-3 cells with PACO60420 at 1:166, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L). |
バックグラウンド: | pH-dependent, voltage-insensitive, background potassium channel protein. |
シノニム: | Potassium channel subfamily K member 9 (acid, sensitive potassium channel protein TASK-3) (TWIK-related acid, sensitive K(+) channel 3) (Two pore potassium channel KT3.2) (Two pore K(+) channel KT3.2), KCNK9, TASK3 |
UniProt Protein Function: | KCNK9: pH-dependent, voltage-insensitive, background potassium channel protein. Mainly found in the cerebellum. Also found in adrenal gland, kidney and lung. Belongs to the two pore domain potassium channel (TC 1.A.1.8) family. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Membrane protein, multi-pass; Membrane protein, integral Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q24.3 Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; synaptic vesicle Molecular Function:potassium ion leak channel activity; protein heterodimerization activity; protein homodimerization activity; voltage-gated potassium channel activity Biological Process: potassium ion transport; stabilization of membrane potential; synaptic transmission Disease: Birk-barel Mental Retardation Dysmorphism Syndrome |
NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a protein that contains multiple transmembrane regions and two pore-forming P domains and functions as a pH-dependent potassium channel. Amplification and overexpression of this gene have been observed in several types of human carcinomas. This gene is imprinted in the brain, with preferential expression from the maternal allele. A mutation in this gene was associated with Birk-Barel mental retardation dysmorphism syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013] |
